GEORGE CLINTON & PARLIAMENT/FUNKADELIC

George Clinton & Parliament/Funkadelic have had 13 Top 10 R&B hits, including six #1 hits. Their classics such as "Flashlight," "Atomic Dog," "One Nation Under a Groove," "Give Up The Funk (Tear The Roof Off The Sucker)" (Parliament) "(Not Just) Knee Deep," "Get Off Your Ass and Jam" and "Aqua Boogie" have been covered and sampled by so many rockers, rappers and turntable scratchers that they're like new tunes today.

George Clinton, the legendary and internationally renowned grandfather of funk, grew up in Plainfield, NJ, and founded the vocal group The Parliaments in 1955. Clinton's most recent solo album, George

Clinton and His Gangsters of Love (Shanachie Records), features guest appearances from Sly Stone, El DeBarge, Red Hot Chili Peppers, RZA, Carlos Santana and more.
